Horeb Chapel, Dyserth U.R.C. – A visitor’s view.
Horeb Chapel is a congregation of the United Reformed Church which meets in the chapel on the High Street in Upper Dyserth. You will see the sign for Horeb Chapel just a few yards uphill from the shops.
Horeb has fairly small active membership of 20 with an average congregation at Sunday Morning Worship of 12 or so.
Worship is led by a small pool of lay preachers, both retired and serving ministers, and our worship group. The services are normally relaxed and informal in style with a combination of hymns, Bible readings, prayers, and a sermon which all help the congregation to hear what God is saying and follow Him in their daily lives.
The members at Horeb are very friendly and welcoming. It is their practise to gather together after Morning Worship and chat over a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit.
Horeb holds different Services at festivals such as Christmas, Easter, and Harvest, and also hosts regular Community events such as a weekly Coffee Morning (Wed. 10.00a.m.) and a monthly Community Lunch (2nd Tues. 12.30pm) . These are open to all and not aimed at making a profit; folk are simply encouraged to come and join in!
